MTA Malaysia 2009, which took place from 6-10 May 2009 at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur has proven to be a success despite the current economic climate. Held alongside Metaltech 2009, both the shows attracted 900 participating companies from 30 countries covering 25,000 sqms of exhibition space and recording a high visitorship of 17,371 trade visitors and buyers, clearly reflecting the healthy state of the manufacturing industries.

 MTA Malaysia 2009 had the successful participation of key names such as Munger Machine Tool, Cotel Precision Industries Sdn Bhd, TRUMPF Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Faro Singapore PTE Ltd, CBN Engineering Sdn Bhd, Italpresse Industrie, Luthy Machines, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Thailand) Sdn Bhd, Hitachi via Asia Pte Ltd, KVC Electric (M) Sdn Bhd, Tornos Technologies Asia Ltd and many others, along with 3 national group pavilions from Germany, Singapore and Taiwan showcasing their latest technologies and state-of-the-art machinery and equipment.

 MTA Malaysia 2009 was honoured with the presence of The Honourable. Dato’ Mukhriz bin Tun Dr. Mahathir, Deputy Minister of International Trade & Industry, Malaysia who officially launch the show followed by a guided tour of the exhibition.

Malaysian Foundry and Engineering Industries Association (FOMFEIA), The Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), German Machine Tool Builders’ Association (VDW), Singapore Precision Engineering & Tooling Association (SPETA), Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) and Malaysia Mould And Die Association (MMADA).

 The Singapore national group was coordinated by the Singapore Precision Engineering And Tooling Association (SPETA). SPETA’s main objective is to marshal and assist with the development of resources and manpower skills essential to a sound and healthy precision engineering and tooling industry to enhance its competitiveness and the economic development of Singapore.
